TradesTek Privacy Policy

TradesTek understands that while using our software and services you provide us with personal and/or business sensitive information. We take this responsibility seriously and do everything we can to ensure your privacy is kept intact as described in this policy.

It is important that you read this Privacy Policy carefully because anytime you use our services you agree to with the practices and principles we describe in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy, you should not use our services.

Information we collect

Information you provide us

Profile - We collect personal information such as your name, email address, and mobile number when you sign up for an account, this forms the basis of your account profile.
If you invite someone to the service we will collect that person’s profile information to form the invitation along with the invitation progress.

Content - The use of our services may involve you directly uploading or entering information into our service, this may contribute to your content. If you have been invited to join someone else’s company or interacting with another person or entity through the service the information you enter may become wholly their content or co-owned content.

Credit card details -If you are the owner of a business we will collect your credit card details to process any payments. We do not store your details ourselves but utilise an industry leading specialist to do this for us.

Information we collect automatically

Location - In the use of our services your location may be automatically accessed or recorded, this will automatically contribute to your content. Your location will only be accessed during a schedule which is always available within our systems and a visual indication will be shown at all times within our systems if your location is being accessed. You are able to prevent your location being accessed during this schedule from within the system at any time, information on how to do this can be found in the help section of our website.

Battery level - To optimise our software and ensure the best possible experience we may detect the battery level of your device.

Log files - When you interact with our service, our servers automatically record certain information in server logs which may include information such as your web request, IP address, browser type and settings, number of clicks and how you interact with the service, domain names, pages viewed, and date and time. These server logs only apply to your use of our services and help us to monitor the performance of the service and diagnose and fix any service related issues.

Device identifiers - When using the mobile app part of the software we collect specific device information contained in your devices “Device identifier”. This includes information such as the type of device, its operating system and version, and mobile network information which may include your mobile number. This information helps us identify any device or operating system specific issues with the service.

How we share information

As directed by you

You are able to control who else can access your content through the service. This can be achieved via the different settings for the relevant section of the service or software.

Co-owned content

Some content which you enter becomes owned by someone else in the service or co-owned, this is generally when you are entering the information as a representative of someone else or it directly involves the other person or entity. This co-owned content can then be shared by any of the co-owners.

Trusted service providers

We utilise trusted third parties to provide us with services. We only select industry leaders who hold your privacy as important as we do. If you require the privacy policy of any or all of our third-party services please contact us as described below.

Hosting - We use hosted services to run our software. Any access to your information by our hosting provider is limited to times where it is necessary to complete their role which may include trouble shooting or data recovery.

Credit card - If you provide us your credit card details for automatic payment they are stored by an industry leading payment gateway, we do not store your details ourselves. They take protecting your details very seriously and limit accessing your details to processing requested payments or in the event of trouble shooting or fraud investigations.

SMS - At times the service may require the sending of text messages. These text messages are automatically sent through a third-party SMS gateway and not by your phone. Sent messages are not read or accessed by an individual unless it is part of trouble shooting an issue or investigating a complaint.

Law Enforcement

We may disclose your information to our legal counsel, government authorities or law enforcement if we believe it is reasonably necessary. Reasons include receiving a legally enforceable demand for the information, to comply with a law or regulation, to protect the safety of any person, to address fraud, security or technical issues or to protect TradeTeks rights or property.

Aggregated information

We may include your information in statistical analysis of the use of our service where it is no longer possible to relate it back to you personally or your profile. We can use this information to improve our service, publicly on our websites or transfer it to a third party.

Transfer of ownership of TradesTek

If the ownership of all or substantially all of TradesTek changes, we may transfer your information to the new owner. Your information would remain subject to this privacy policy until it is updated or amended by the new owner which you will be notified of.

Cookie Policy

Cookies store information about our sites and your usage of our sites on your computer, for example a cookie is used to remember your username when you return to the website. You can block cookies through your web browser however some features may not function properly if the ability to accept cvookies is disabled. We use third party service providers to provide us with analytics on our behalf. If you would like to opt out of analytics please contact us as described below to learn how.

Date Storage, Security and Transfer

Data transmissions

All transmissions are encrypted using industry standard encryption at all times.

Data integrity

Your data is stored in data centre who provide industry leading both physical and logical security to your information. TradesTek use commercially reasonable and industry standard safeguards within our service and software to ensure the security and integrity of your data. We backup your data to help prevent data loss and ensure quick recovery in the event it is necessary.

International data transfer

In connection with providing you the service TradesTek may transfer, store and process We may transfer your information to affiliates or other third parties across borders from your country or jurisdiction to other countries or jurisdictions around the world. If you are located in the European Union or another region with laws governing data collection and use please note that they may differ from Australia and by using the service you consent to the transfer of your information to Australia and the use and disclosure of information about you as described in this privacy policy.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time. Simply go to the My Profile section of TradesTek when logged in, and select "Delete my account". Alternatively email us at support@tradestek.com and we will confirm your identity manually and delete your account for you.

Deleting your account will remove your account and delete any data belonging to you within the TradesTek system as well as instantly remove you from any organisations you belong to. Please note information previously submitted to an organisation, such as your timesheets, belong to that organisation and will be retained within their records.

Risks of sharing your information

Although we utilise industry best practices and standards please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot control the actions of other users whom your information has been shared with nor are we responsible for third party circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures in this service. You may of course decline to submit information to our service, in which case TradesTek may not be able to provide certain or any services to you. You have a right to access information we hold about you – you may update or correct information at any time within the software.

Changes to Privacy Policy

If we change the Privacy Policy we will post the changes on this page to keep you aware of the information we collect and how we use it and who we will disclose it to. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective once posted on this page.
